The Project Management Intern will support the Commercial Department in planning, coordinating, and tracking projects across the Group’s diversified business lines, including insurance broking, technology, actuarial services, and marketing initiatives in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Zambia. The role provides hands-on exposure to project delivery, commercial execution, and marketing coordination within a multidisciplinary business environment. Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Delivery Support
- Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of commercial and marketing projects across multiple business units.
- Assist in tracking project timelines, deliverables, budgets, and milestones.
- Maintain project documentation, trackers, action logs, and status reports.
- Follow up with internal teams to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Commercial & Marketing Support
- Support coordination between commercial, marketing, technical, finance, and operations teams.
- Assist in the execution of marketing campaigns, product launches, and client engagement
- Support preparation of proposals, pitch decks, presentations, and commercial reports.
Stakeholder & Communication Support
- Participate in project and campaign meetings, take minutes, and track action points.
- Support internal and external stakeholder communication related to projects and marketing
- Assist in coordinating vendors, partners, and service providers where required.
Process, Performance & Reporting
- Support monitoring of project and marketing KPIs.
- Assist in identifying risks, issues, and dependencies and escalate appropriately.
- Contribute to improving project and campaign execution processes within the department.
Research & Analysis
- Conduct basic market, competitor, and client research to support commercial and marketing
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and preparation of dashboards or summary reports.
General Administrative Support
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Commercial and Marketing teams.
- Assist with ad-hoc assignments aligned to business priorities.
Learning & Development Outcomes
- Exposure to project management practices and tools in a commercial environment.
- Understanding of commercial, marketing, and client-facing operations across insurance, technology, actuarial sectors.
- Development of stakeholder coordination, reporting, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience working on cross-functional and multi-sector projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Project Management, Business
- Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Economics, Actuarial Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of project management and marketing principles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with project or marketing tools is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
