About This Role

To support the Insurance Broking or Re-Insurance teams by assisting in the accurate and efficient migration of client, policy, claims, and financial data from legacy systems or manual records into the company’s core operating platforms. The role is focused on data validation, cleansing, entry, and reconciliation to ensure data integrity and continuity of business operations.

Job Description

1. OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Data Extraction & Preparation: Assist in extracting data from legacy systems and physical records for migration into new broking or reinsurance systems.
  2. Data Cleansing & Validation: Review extracted data for duplicates, errors, and inconsistencies. Work with Project leads to verify accuracy and completeness before migration.
  3. Data Entry & Upload: Accurately upload or enter cleansed data into the target system, including client details, policy records, premium information, claims history, and reinsurance placements.
  4. Reconciliation: Compare migrated data against source documents to ensure no data loss or corruption. Flag and document discrepancies for resolution.
  5. Documentation: Maintain clear logs of migration activities, including records of data sources, changes made, and unresolved issues.
  6. Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the Broking teams and other departments to understand data structures, prioritize migration tasks, and ensure business needs are met.
  7. Quality Assurance: Conduct sample testing of migrated data to confirm accuracy, completeness, and functionality within the new system.
  8. Learning & Compliance: Participate in training on data handling, insurance operations, and compliance requirements (e.g., data protection). Adhere to company policies on confidentiality and data security.

Responsibility for physical assets

  • Company laptop (issued during internship period)
  • Nature of Decision Making-Procedural / operational under close supervision and within defined migration guidelines

2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum level of academic qualification, skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in the role:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum level of professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role:

  • Progress towards or interest in CII, IIK Diploma in Insurance, or Data Management certifications is an added advantage.

Personal and professional skills required:

  1. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
  3. Basic understanding of data entry best practices.
  4. Good organizational and time management skills.
  5. Ability to handle repetitive tasks with consistency.
  6. Effective written and verbal communication in English.

Minimum months or years of experience required to have to perform effectively in the role:

  • 0–1 year of experience (internship or volunteer experience in data entry, administration, or insurance is a plus but not mandatory).
